CORPORATE & SMALL BUSINESS?
Yes we do this too!
Yes, we do this too. Corporate and small business presentation websites. So if you are in need of a strong and unique online presence, search no more, as you just arrived at the right place. Let’s see what your options are.
The platform - WordPress
In the present case, the answer to “what CMS should be used” is very simple: WordPress. The platform is responsible for 60% of the web, making this the most common CMS, so no wonder it has grown into a multifaceted solution. WordPress at core is no more than a blog engine, but thanks to its remarkable expansiveness, it has everything to add to it. Unlike in webshops case, where we choose between two separate CMS paltforms, the choice here is between templates and plugins. Let’s see the facts.
A comprehensive and versatile template

Nowadays, templates are not just a simple graphic layer that you apply over some sci-fi technology, but cover a full web presence with looks, features, and lots of personalization. Mostly, many templates come with a pre-defined multi-business image (restaurant, office, construction company, photographer blog, design portfolio, etc.), which can be imported in 1-2 clicks, and theoretically only the content has to be edited afterwards.
Of course, this is far from being personalized, and the uniqueness is also based on the fact that we can limitlessly combine the same 100 elements and twist the whole with different fonts and colors.
Additionally, it is important to note that these templates are actually more like complex plugins than templates, as they all contain many built-in features, usually as a particular solution.
PROs:
- functionallity vise almost complete coverage
- many options and features
- modules are molded to the template and are stacked together, resulting in good stability
- we can override the template with a child template, so it’s possible to upgrade
- demo sites allow you to gain deep insight into the end product
CONs:
- if something is missing, it has to be replaced with a plugin that does not fit intothe image and needs to be edited
- theme not always includes the plugin that we would prefere, so we are forced to make compromises
- if our industry is a niche, then our selection is limited
- one dev or a smaller team is responsible for supporting the entire template with all it’s plugins and features
- it is difficult to switch to a different template later because the storage of information is proprietary
A multitude of plugins

In case of plugins, the explanation is simpler: they help us expand the basic WordPress if we need different functions and solutions. “Woocommerce” is a webshop plugin, “Job Manager” for job and other ads, “WPML” is the most common translation solution, with “BuddyPress” you can create an online community, run a “Bbpress” based forum, and with “Events Calendar” we can run a festival website.
All of these are extremely versatile solutions, but they are also unique and are not necessarily compatible with each other, which can cause many headaches.
In addition, each has its own image and class group, so personalisation requires a separate CSS file to each and every one of them.
PROs:
- we can add everything we need to WordPress, to the smallest details
- most plugins are free or have a free version
- each plugin has its own forum and support
- 95% of plugins can be embedd in the text editor with a shortcode
- you can switch to any other template without losing data
CONs:
- plugins basically and guaranteed to be compatible only with WordPress
- if our industry is a niche, then our selection is limited
- not all can be overridden from the active template, and if we edit the plugin, we will loose the upgrade option
- quite different structure and editing logic
- separate CSS rules and complex functions.php of the active theme as a result
Based on the above, we could basically say that the first option is self-evident, and in most cases this is true, but there are exceptions, and they usually apply to deeply personalized pages.
Small business or corporate - turnkey or personalized
Turnkey websites - the easiest and fastest solution
It is recommended for small businesses, where a template can easily be selected based on a minimal notion, which can be personalized with a couple of clicks, based on the logo itself, or some other existing company image element. It’s a good solution, when the person does not have a specific vision regarding it’s web presence, so on a exclusionary basis, where the main factor is “like or dislike”, a template or more (in all cases the developer can advice of course) can be selected, in which the demo content is simply substituted with own details, right after purchase.
- Engine: WordPress: Free
- Look: an easy-to-edit, pre-built template: $ 60- $ 70
- Minimal customizations, fine-tuning, other settings – Depending on the situation, there may be a few hours or even more
- Hosting + Domain: variable
- Effective development and delivery time: approximately 48 hours
Customized and personalized corporate websites
Suits bigger companies or where besides the web presence of information, its completely unique presentation is equally important, being a level where expectations and solutions are totally different than earlier. Here, almost each item is personalized, each page and menu item being pre-designed, all preceded by several brainstorming sessions, and only after their cleavage, begins the actuall development process. It is also recommended in this case to use a ready-made template, especially for their out of the box responsiveness, but the research is plugins and feature focused rather than mere looks. Because of this, especially in the case of brands that prefer minimalism, often happens that the template is built from ground up, with embedding and customize the plugins right in the beginning. The result is a completely unique solution that is a true reflection of its owner.
